I have always kept a Planner for goals and time management. My first real Planner was Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. At the time, I worked for a software company and it was part of the training to keep the Product Management team aligned.
This habit has followed me through life and recently I’ve taken up a new method of planning using a Bullet Journal. I think the simplicity of this method makes it compelling and natural to me. As part of this planning I now keep a Gratitude Log, focusing on all for which I’m thankful. This has redirected my perspective and has given me more joy. I highly recommend the habit.
