As a watercolor enthusiast I oftentimes look for subjects to paint. I naturally gravitate to subjects in nature and find joy in painting flowers, leaves, trees, bugs and seeds. Nature is a wonder to observe.
After completing the design phase and beading the Egyptian Palmette Ornament, it seemed to me an enjoyable subject to paint. A simplified line drawing of the ornament was sketched on 140# hot press cotton watercolor paper. Watercolor paints, pigment inks and gouache were used to colorize and create the form. Watercolor is a wonderful outlet for me since it is purely for personal enjoyment.
