About
Long necklaces have long been popular and in Coco Chanel’s days were synonymous with style and sophistication as well as casual elegance. In this trio of chains Melanie was inspired by the Coco Chanel layered “look” of the 1920’s.
There are four beaded chains that are included in this design. Two of them are woven closed, without a clasp and two of them are woven as lariats with delicate tassels on the ends. Each can be worn alone or together as a gang of chains for the full style statement!
About the Flat Chain
The easiest of the necklaces is a flat chain with embellishment on it. This necklace uses chevron chain stitch to weave a long connected band studded with magatamas on the edge for a lovely look.
The Spiraling Tube Chain
The second chain is a spiraling tube chain. It uses circular chevron chain stitch and spiral rope stitch together to create this rotating beaded necklace.
The Zipper Chains
The final two pieces of this set are what Melanie calls zipper chains with cute little tassels on the ends of them. These are delicate lariats and can be worn in many ways with the set. The ends of the tassels have fringing in Swarovski bicones in two sizes.
Chain Gang is a great design with lots of variety put together in one kit! There are seven different bead stitches used to create this ensemble. With this you will be able to wear the pieces as you finish them giving early gratification to this unique project! This is a great kit full of very nice components and with exceptional step by step color illustrated instructions that will take you through each necklace.
