RIBBON OF NOTRE DAME © 2007 by Melanie Potter Ribbon of Notre Dame is reminiscent of the gothic arches prevalent in the architectural feat of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. The inner construction of the lariat features an intricate array of arches that are created by interweaving right angle weave and netting in graduating colors. The ends of the lariat are tapered which look like ribbon cut on the bias. The fringing is bold and terminates with a plethora of dangling dichroic seed beads. |
